Disconnect them both and spray with a cleaning solvent like brake cleaner. Allow to dry (blast with compressed air is best) and reconnect. For me, that eliminated the fault code on the computer and fixed the problem.

It heats up and over time it tends to brake and the wire inside tends to rust away. The fuel pumps run in 2 different speeds. Had the same problem. 1999 vt commodore won't start straight away. It will crank but not fire. If i leave the key on for 5 or 10 minutes before I try to crank it starts.. Hi got a VT commodore cranks over but will not fire changed the BCM & key recoded checked all fuses and sensor plugs still nothing changed coil packs and base plate recently fitted new fuel pump.
